This course is for:

  • Those wanting to offer Career Counselling, Coaching and Assessment services to students in schools and higher education or business clients.

  • Existing practitioners keen to develop new skills and refresh their knowledge.

  • New and existing practitioners who want to be inspired by the latest evidence and best practice.  

 

The course covers:

  • How and when career decisions are made, and the role of the careers professional and skills in providing practical assistance

  • Ways to enhance self-efficacy and confidence in career exploration

  • An understanding of the changing nature of work and the effect of uncertainty in career planning

  • Current research and effective practice for schools, higher education and business.

Take the course in person with Professor Jim Bright at ACU North Sydney. Delivery of course content will be over 3 days / 20 hours of instruction.

Learn with a small cohort and benefit from experiential learning activities, as well as the opportunity for professional networking with your course peers.

Pace yourself with hybrid online learning

Complete the course by combining live online interactive seminar sessions with Professor Jim Bright and self-paced learning on BECOME's online learning platform. Participants will stay with a cohort and will have four months to complete the course.

Next intake: January 2023 intake to complete by the end of April 2023

Hours: 20 hours total of which 3 hours are mandatory live online interactive sessions

Location: Online

Cost: $2000 (plus GST)

Credit: Optional post-course application to ACU.

About the instructor

Dr Jim Bright is Professor of Career Education and Development at Australian Catholic University.

Based in Sydney, Australia, Jim is a practicing psychologist who works with clients in medico-legal matters, as well as coaching elite sports people and executives.  He is also director of Research & Impact for BECOME Education.
